If you know Edwin Encarnación, you probably know two things. First, he hits a lot of dingers -- he's hit at least 34 long balls every year since 2012. And second, he uses each one of those home runs to take his imaginary pet parrot out for a stroll. Allow us to demonstrate:
Encarnacion was back at it again during Sunday's 11-8 loss to the Red Sox, launching two more homers to pull into a tie for second in the AL with 39. And, to help celebrate this momentous occasion, his teammates honored him in the only way proper: with a giant inflatable parrot in the dugout.
No word yet on what became of the previous stuffed dugout parrot, but we imagine this one also requires some occasional feeding.
