A fan gave up his seat on a flight so that Kenny Lofton could make it to Cleveland

Kenny Lofton, hero of the 1990s Indians, was on his way back to Cleveland on Tuesday morning to throw out the first pitch for World Series Game 1. But his journey was … a little rocky, to say the least.
Lofton had to take a red-eye out of Los Angeles to get to Cleveland in time, and he had the bad luck to wind up on the standby list. Luckily, a fellow Ohioan was on the flight and was more than willing to give up his seat. ClevelandScene.com reports that Marblehead resident Ken Kostal happily stayed on the ground so that Lofton could fly.

And it looks like Kenny made it:

Watch Lofton throw out the first pitch (and, you know, the rest of World Series Game 1), at 8 p.m. ET on FOX.
