Has Joey Votto grown a real mustache during his time on the disabled list?

It's been difficult to power through most of August without Joey Votto in our lives. The first baseman has been battling knee soreness and a contusion that have limited him to a .707 OPS in 12 games this month, and he's currently on the 10-day disabled list.
So what's an icon to do with the time off? Why, attempt to grow a mustache of course -- emphasis on the word "attempt." Take a look for yourself:

There's something growing there -- there's no doubt about that.
Votto seems to be well-aware of it, too.

It doesn't seem to be a very thick mustache, but Votto is still early in this process.
As the 'stache stands now, it appears that it will soon strike a resemblance to the familiar look worn in the '70s by John Cleese as Basil Fawlty. Feels like it would fit Votto's humor, anyway.
