Jose Fernandez buckles poor Jean Segura, later learns how hard hitting actually is

Jose Fernandez is accustomed to making professional hitters look very, very silly -- he's never posted an ERA higher than 2.92, and in his age-23 season he's currently striking out 13.3 batters per nine innings. But don't take our word for it, allow Jean Segura to demonstrate while facing Fernandez during Saturday night's Marlins-D-backs game:

But alas, Fernandez pitches in the National League, meaning he cannot hide behind the tyranny of his physics-defying curveball. No, he must step into the batter's box himself -- and on Saturday, he discovered that this whole "hitting" thing is actually pretty difficult: 

Hey, maybe this will make him think twice before he ruins a hitter's day.
