The Rangers tied up ALDS Game 3 on a line drive that somehow escaped Kevin Pillar's glove

Over four seasons in the Major Leagues, Blue Jays center fielder and possible superheroKevin Pillar has established a very specific reputation: If you hit a fly ball anywhere in his range (read: zip code), he will almost definitely come down with it. Even if he has to leap a tall building in a single bound:

No, really, hit it anywhere else:

During Game 3 of the ALDS against the Rangers, it seemed like Pillar was going to add yet another jaw-dropping highlight to his reel. With two runners on and the Jays clinging to a one-run lead in the sixth inning, Mitch Moreland lined a ball to left-center -- he stepped right into Pillar's office, in other words.
Except, well, funky things happen in October. And this time, Pillar laid out ... and couldn't quite make the play:

Don't despair though, Toronto: Thanks to a mad dash from Josh Donaldson, the Jays got the last laugh, walking off with a 7-6 win  in 10 innings and moving on to the ALCS.
The Blue Jays will play Game 1 on Friday night in Boston or Cleveland (time TBD). The ALCS will be broadcast on TBS, as well as Sportsnet and RDS (in French) in Canada.
