The North Carolina Little Leaguers made LLWS history with back-to-back no-hitters

The Little League World Series hadn't seen a perfect game since 2008, and no team from the U.S. had ever thrown one. So, naturally, the North Carolina Little Leaguers came out and blanked South Dakota in their 2017 LLWS opener on Friday night:

Having etched themselves into Little League history after exactly one game, you might think that the boys from the Tar Heel State would take it easy for their follow-up performance -- or at least, like, give up a hit or something. Alas, you would be mistaken: On Sunday afternoon, N.C. threw a no-hitter against California.

They're the first team to ever throw consecutive no-hitters in the Little League World Series, and even more incredibly, they did it while scoring 16 runs of their own. Even Johnny Bench was impressed:
