Cory Spangenberg hit a ball in the gap during the third inning of Monday's Cubs-Padres game. Cory was excited about the prospects of a double -- possibly a triple. Unfortunately, he may have been too excited.
Fortunately, the utility man was up a second later and made it to second base.
He even ended up scoring on another strange play involving Wil Myers later in the inning. So, all in all, a solid day for Cory Spangenberg.
