Rangers fans perform wedding ceremony at Globe Life Park in between innings
A typical Friday night at the ballpark is filled with the sights of fans cheering, base hits … and weddings? Yes, weddings.
During the A's-Rangers game, Teresa and Lloyd Price exchanged vows at Globe Life Park in a quick wedding ceremony in front of the home crowd in between innings. The couple brought in Honorable Judge Ann Horan to make it official:
The bride wore her something blue in the form of a Josh Hamilton jersey which had been her plan all along -- even before deciding to have the wedding at the ballpark. Judge Horan gave her the nudge to perform it at the park once she mentioned she wanted to get married while representing her favorite team.
"We came up with the idea because I've been a Rangers fan since they came to Texas in 1972," Price told MLB.com's real-time correspondent Mary Adger Bowen. "I felt that after I met him [Lloyd] that I hit a walk-off grand slam, and so I wanted a baseball-themed wedding."
"I thought 'what better place to get married than at the place she loves most -- the Rangers Stadium,'" Judge Horan explained.
The groom sported an Adrián Beltré jersey and the two gazed into each other's eyes, exchanged vows and a ballpark wedding was born. And they had plenty of witnesses to spend their special day with them.
Congratulations to the newlyweds!
