Here's Vin Scully signing off from baseball one last time

How do you finalize the end of a relationship that's been going strong for more than half a century? What last words can possibly be said to sum up everything you've been through together? These were the questions facing Vin Scully as he signed off from his final baseball broadcast in San Francisco today.
In his typical, understated fashion, Scully bid farewell to his audience with simple elegance.

"And for the last time, I wish you all a very pleasant good afternoon."
It's a phrase he's said more times than we can count and now it's been said for the final time. I suppose all that's left to say is: Mr. Scully, we wish you a very pleasant and good retirement.
We'd be sad about parting ways, but you explicitly told us to smile instead.

Thank you, Vin.
