Jose Reyes tore the cover off the ball and then watched as it just kept spinning

Baseballs, like the Death Star, are nearly indestructible flying orbs. They have to be -- after all, they must withstand the assault of Giancarlo Stanton crushing a ball over 120 mph.
However, also like the Death Star, if you hit the baseball in just the right way and at just the right angle, you can tear the cover off it. José Reyes managed to do that on Friday night during the Nationals-Mets game
While we've seen players tear the covers off baseballs before, Reyes nearly brought the perpetual motion device into the world, as it appeared that the ball would never stop spinning.

Of course, to mix our movie metaphors, maybe the baseball is Reyes' "Inception"-style totem and the fact that it kept spinning means that this is all a dream.
