Big weekend: Rutschman 5-for-8, 2 HR

Adley Rutschman had himself quite a weekend.

MLB Pipeline's No. 2 overall prospect homered for a second straight game in Double-A Bowie's 13-11 loss to Hartford on Sunday afternoon.

After a three-hit game on Saturday, Rutschman added two more hits and a pair of walks on Sunday. He went 5-for-8 with four extra-base hits (two homers and two doubles) and two walks over the two games.

Strangely enough, Rutschman was one of the only two players who didn't register a hit in Bowie's seven-run first inning. Six of the Baysox first seven batters recorded a hit, with Rutschman being the lone exception (groundout). That was the only time the Orioles’ top prospect didn't reach base on Sunday.

Rutschman worked a leadoff walk in the second inning before clobbering a leadoff homer in the fourth -- his eighth long ball of the season. He took another walk in the sixth, then added a leadoff double in the eighth when his popup fell to the infield grass.

With his latest multihit effort, Rutschman has a slash line of .293/.450/.586 with 22 RBIs this season.
