3 bases-loaded HBPs?! Angels-White Sox make bizarre history

Getting hit by a pitch with the bases loaded is rare enough in its own right. What about seeing it happen THREE times in the same game?
That’s what happened in the Angels-White Sox game at Angel Stadium on Wednesday, when two Angels were hit by a pitch and one White Sox batter was hit. According to Elias, it was the first time in at least the last 70 seasons where three batters were hit by pitches with the bases loaded in the same game.
Making this piece of history even more interesting is the fact that two of these hit-by-pitches happened on consecutive pitches. With the bases loaded in the fourth inning, Chicago’s Osvaldo Bido hit the Angels’ Jorge Soler to bring home a run. The very next pitch Bido threw hit Jo Adell, bringing in yet another run. The third hit-by-pitch came in the seventh inning when the Angels’ Drew Pomeranz hit Sam Antonacci.
Just for further context, there were only 12 hit-by-pitches with the bases loaded across the Majors in 2026 prior to Wednesday. And in the case of the Angels, they became the first team to be hit by multiple pitches with the bases loaded since the 2024 Brewers, who were hit twice on May 11 by the Cardinals.
