Lamb, Pollock lead HR parade in D-backs win

PEORIA, Ariz. -- Félix Hernández looked sharp in a final two-inning tuneup before his Opening Day start for the Mariners, but the D-backs launched six home runs to support their own ace, Zack Greinke, in a 15-6 victory Tuesday at Peoria Stadium.
Brandon Drury lined a home run to left with two out in the first, but that was the only hit allowed by Hernandez in his short stint. The 30-year-old right-hander struck out four with no walks in a 24-pitch outing and now is set for Seattle's opener on Monday in Houston.
"I feel really good. All my pitches are there," said Hernandez. "I need to get out of here. My allergies are killing me here in Arizona. But I'm ready to go. I'm ready for Monday, ready to face the Astros."
Greinke, who'll open the D-backs' season Sunday against the Giants, allowed six hits and three runs over four innings with no strikeouts or walks in a 57-pitch day

Greinke gave up a leadoff double to Jean Segura and bunt single by Mitch Haniger -- two teammates of his last year with the D-backs -- with Robinson Canó then scoring Segura on a sacrifice fly in the first. That pair did damage again in the third when Segura singled, stole second and raced home on Haniger's double to right-center.
Cano and Nelson Cruz were both playing their first games in six days due to illness. Cruz doubled home Haniger for a 3-2 lead and finished 1-for-3. Cano was 0-for-2 with an RBI. Segura went 3-for-3 and Haniger finished 2-for-3 with a walk to put his spring average at .412 with a Cactus League-leading 11 doubles.
Kristopher Negrón launched a three-run homer and A.J. Pollock followed with a two-run blast in the fourth off Mariners reliever Casey Fien. The two long balls were sandwiched around a double by Greinke, who went 2-for-2 at the plate.

Jake Lamb added his fourth home run of the spring with a solo shot in the fifth, David Peralta added another in the sixth, and Minor Leaguer Marty Herum cranked a grand slam in the eighth as the D-backs wrapped up their Cactus League season with a 14-14-2 record. Seattle (19-14) continues playing in Arizona through Saturday
Mike Zunino had Seattle's lone long ball, a two-run poke in the sixth, for his fourth of the spring.

D-backs Up Next: The D-backs are off Wednesday before hosting a pair of exhibition games against the Indians at Chase Field on Thursday and Friday nights. Taijuan Walker will start for the D-backs on Thursday night at 6:40 p.m. MST.
Mariners Up Next:Hisashi Iwakuma starts against Dodgers ace Clayton Kershaw in Wednesday's 1:10 p.m. PT game, which will be broadcast live from Peoria Stadium on MLB.TV. The Mariners hope to have leadoff man Jarrod Dyson back in the lineup after sitting out a week to rest a sore right hamstring.
