Bregman exits early with hamstring discomfort

PHILADELPHIA -- Astros third baseman Alex Bregman is listed as day to day after sustaining right hamstring tightness while legging out a third-inning triple in Tuesday's 5-0 win over the Phillies at Citizens Bank Park. Bregman scored on a sacrifice fly, but he was removed from the game before the bottom of the frame.
Bregman was getting treatment on his leg after the game and wasn't available for comment.
"When he hit the triple, coming around second, he said his hamstring tightened up a little bit," Astros manager A.J. Hinch said. "He could feel it. He stretched a little bit. We thought it knocked the wind out of him at third base. He had a couple of issues at third base, and he scored easily on the sac fly. He got back to the dugout and complained a little bit of some tightness, and nowadays [that means] an immediate removal with the way the situation is and our depth. So he's day to day."

Bregman's injury could cost him a chance to face former LSU teammate and roommate Aaron Nola, who was scheduled to start for the Phillies in Wednesday night's series finale.
The Astros, who last week lost shortstop Carlos Correa until September with a thumb injury, saw All-Star outfielder George Springer go down early in Monday's game with quad discomfort. Springer is also listed as day to day.
Colin Moran, who was called up last week to replace Correa, fouled a ball off his face Saturday in Baltimore and will undergo surgery later this week to repair a fractured cheekbone.
