Glove day 'like Christmas' for Athletics
MESA, Ariz. -- Representatives from Wilson attended A's camp on Tuesday as part of the annual Glove Day and flashed some serious leather.
"It's like Christmas around here," outfielder Boog Powell said. "This is the most important thing in my game, so you always have to have the best leather."

Powell is staying with the A2000 model but is moving from 12 ½ to a 12 ¾ in length. He says the H-Web pocket is his style of choice, and he loves the Superskin, the light material on the back of the glove.

"Once you get the pocket broken in, it gives a deeper pocket than all of the other webs," Powell said. "It takes a week or two weeks to break it in if you take care of it and stay consistent."
The list of Wilson clients includes Santiago Casilla, Matt Chapman and Matt Joyce.
"I'll probably use the new one in games once the season starts," Powell said. "I'm going to take it easy right now because I have a Wilson that is reliable, but this new glove is exactly what I want."
