The A's have traded Trayce Thompson to the White Sox for a player to be named later or cash considerations, the team announced Thursday. Oakland also optioned right-hander Lou Trivino to Triple-A Nashville.
Thompson, whose brother Klay plays for the NBA's Golden State Warriors in the building next door to the A's, was 1-for-7 in three games with Oakland after being claimed off waivers from the Yankees. The 27-year-old was designated for assignment on Tuesday.

Trivino was called up on Tuesday and made his MLB debut against the White Sox, throwing a scoreless inning. Then he got his first career win Wednesday night after pitching the final three innings of the A's 12-11, 14-inning win over Chicago. The 26-year-old hasn't allowed a run in his four innings of work and has six strikeouts.
