Blake Snell was scratched from his scheduled start for the Dodgers on Friday night in the opener of the Freeway Series. Will Klein will start a bullpen game against the Angels instead.

The club has not yet announced a reason for Snell's absence.

The 33-year-old southpaw made his 2026 debut ahead of schedule last Saturday against the Braves, but he showed some rust as he gave up five runs (four earned) on six hits and two walks in only three innings of action. Friday's start was set to be Snell's second of the season after beginning the year on the injured list with left shoulder fatigue. Snell missed four months of his first season as a Dodger in 2025 due to inflammation in the same shoulder.
