Blue Jays unveil plans for first Winter Fest
TORONTO -- The Blue Jays have announced plans for their first Winter Fest, which is set to take place on Jan. 20 at Rogers Centre.
The brand-new event will feature select players, rookies and Blue Jays alumni with appearances by the front office and coaching staff. Additional details will be made available in the coming weeks, but fans can expect field access, ballpark tours and live entertainment.
Winter Fest is a different spin on Toronto's annual Winter Tour, which has been taking place since 2011. In addition to the one-day event in Toronto, the tour will return in '18 with a stop in Vancouver from Jan. 12-13. The Blue Jays will visit a Ronald McDonald House, host an amateur baseball clinic and take part in an autograph session at the Vancouver Convention Centre.

Tickets for Winter Fest at Rogers Centre will go on sale to season-ticket holders on Thursday, and they will be open to the public on Monday. For fans who purchase tickets, there is potential availability at four autograph sessions involving players, prospects and alumni. Tickets for the autograph sessions can be purchased for $5, with all proceeds going to support Jays Care Foundation. Full details can be found here.
Fans in Vancouver will have to take part in an online lottery to secure tickets for the autograph session at the convention centre. The lottery opens on Dec. 4 at bluejays.com/wintertour, and winners will be selected by random drawing. The lottery is free to enter, but tickets for the session will cost $5, with all proceeds going to the Jays Care Foundation.
The Blue Jays have visited more than 20 Canadian cities since the Winter Tour went into effect back in 2011. Stops have included Edmonton, Regina, Fredericton, Halifax, St. John's, Ottawa, Montreal, Saskatoon, Winnipeg and Calgary. This marks the third time Toronto has stopped in Vancouver, and the first since '15.
