Shortstop Brandon Crawford showed why he's a three-time Gold Glove Award winner over the weekend, starting a nifty double play with Tommy La Stella that earned the duo MLB Play of the Week honors on Monday.

In the seventh inning of the Giants' series-opening 6-1 win against the Cubs on Friday, Crawford lunged up the middle to snare a tough short hop on Patrick Wisdom's 108 mph hot shot to short. Then he made a slick backhanded flip to La Stella at second base to get Willson Contreras as his momentum carried him into the outfield grass.

La Stella barehanded Crawford's flip and fired to first to complete the double play.

Crawford, who won three straight Gold Glove Awards from 2015-17, won the Play of the Week Award for the first time in his career.
