The Braves acquired catcher Anthony Recker on Monday from the Indians for cash considerations.
Recker, 32, was hitting .246/.395/.426 with two home runs and 10 RBIs in 19 games for Triple-A Columbus.
A right-handed batter, Recker is a .185 career hitter in parts of five Major League seasons with the A's, Cubs and Mets.
Recker will join Triple-A Gwinnett. His arrival will not have an immediate effect on Atlanta's catchers A.J. Pierzynski and Tyler Flowers.
