The Braves saw another flash of the power potential Alex Lodise possesses on Wednesday. Actually two flashes.
Atlanta's No. 4 prospect went yard twice in his second multihomer game of his career in Single-A Augusta's 5-4 victory over Columbia at SRP Park. Lodise went 3-for-4 with four RBIs to bump his OPS up to .771.
The 2025 second-round pick launched a two-run homer to left field on the fifth pitch of the game by right-hander Denis Samudio (Royals). In the fifth, Lodise reached the concourse in left again when he turned around a 3-2 pitch from southpaw Dash Albus for another two-run shot.
The 22-year-old has five RBIs over the past three games and eight homers in 42 games this year. In addition to his second multihomer game (he also swatted two on April 28), Lodise also amassed his third three-hit outing of the season.
Lodise got a brief taste of pro ball last season after the Draft, slashing .252/.294/.398 with one homer, 11 runs and nine RBIs in 25 games for High-A Rome. He also amassed a 40 percent strikeout rate over that span and headed to Single-A to start this season.
Lodise has compiled a slash line of .259/.340/.431 with 31 runs and 24 RBIs to start 2026. His strikeout rate was cut down to 30 percent through his first 170 at-bats.
Lodise put together a largely successful college career across three seasons at Florida State. He posted a .998 OPS during his time in Tallahassee, capping that time in style with a monster 2025 season. Lodise hit a career-best 17 home runs while slashing .394/.462/.705 with an eye-popping 1.167 OPS.
Lodise is currently the second-ranked position-player prospect in the organization behind ‘25 first-rounder Tate Southisene (ATL No. 3).
