Braves' No. 20 prospect Hartman goes OFF for three-homer game

The scouting report on Eric Hartman is often all about his 70-grade speed, which helped him steal 48 bags in 89 games during his first professional season in 2025. On Tuesday, though, he put on an incredible power display.

The Braves’ No. 20 prospect mashed three home runs for High-A Rome in a 15-6 win over Greensboro, setting all kinds of history in the process. The 19-year-old center fielder went 5-for-5 in all with a walk and five RBIs.

Hartman got started early, sneaking a first-inning long ball inside the right-field line for a two-run shot. His second -- a solo homer -- came in the third inning, going back-to-back with shortstop John Gil (Braves’ No. 10). Hartman singled twice and earned his walk before finishing his day with a ninth-inning big fly to deep right-center field.

A 20th-round pick in the 2024 draft from Alberta, Canada, Hartman now has six homers in just 14 games in 2026, already topping his output of five a year ago. Tuesday’s outburst made him one of just three Minor Leaguers this season with six or more homers and stolen bases thus far.

As for the history behind this incredible outing? Only one teenager has recorded more total bases in a full-season league game since at least 2005, and no teen collected more than Hartman’s 14 at High-A or above in that span. Additionally, this was just the 14th time since at least 2005 that a teenager hit three homers in a full-season league game and just the third time it happened at High-A or above in the timeframe.

If Hartman -- now slashing .310/.365/.724 -- has a newfound power stroke, look out.
