Susac out for 'a couple days' with neck stiffness

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. -- The Brewers have played five catchers so far this spring, and Andrew Susac has gotten the most time behind the plate, logging 42 innings over five games.
Manny Piña, Jett Bandy, René García and Dustin Houle have also received time at catcher.
Susac is getting a little rest with "neck stiffness," as manager Craig Counsell called it.
"It's nothing serious, but it's going to be a couple days until it loosens up," Counsell said.
Of those five, Susac (96 games), Bandy (72) and Pina (38) have limited Major League experience, and figure to be the prime contenders for roster spots. Garcia has commuted between Double-A and Triple-A, while Houle has only briefly played in Double-A.
"Garcia is probably a little up in the air," Counsell said of his likely spot on a Minor League roster. "He spent most of the season at Double-A. He went back and forth a little bit last year. He's got a chance to be in Triple-A.
"He's done a nice job with our pitching staffs. He throws good. He's here because of his defense."

Garcia is hitting .333 (4-for-12) this spring.
Gennett makes first start in right
Scooter Gennett started in right field in Wednesday's 5-4 loss to the Rockies, the fourth position he's started at this spring. He had a challenging defensive play to lead off the bottom of the fourth, taking a circuitous route beneath a deep Mark Reynolds fly ball that ended up going for a double.
"He got tested right away," Counsell said. "The two balls that are hardest for outfielders are balls hit directly over your head and any ball you've got to go a long way for at full speed. The second fly ball hit to him in right field goes right over his head, and he's got to contend with the wall. I'm glad it happened, because he's had that play now and he can have a better feel next time."
Gennett has started at second base, twice at third, and twice in left this spring. He started 121 games at second last season for the Brewers, and he is showing his versatility with Jonathan Villar moving from shortstop to second and Orlando Arcia in line to start at shortstop.
Gennett has played just one Major League inning in the outfield -- a frame in right during a game in 2014.
