The Brewers claimed right-handed pitcher Blake Parker off waivers from the Angels on Wednesday and designated right-hander David Goforth for assignment.
The Angels had claimed Parker, 31, off waivers from the Yankees on Oct. 5, and the right-hander was designated for assignment, then outrighted to Triple-A Salt Lake on Sunday.
Parker spent most of this past season with the Mariners' Triple-A Tacoma team, posting a 2.95 ERA in 38 games with 19 saves. The Yankees acquired him off waivers on Aug. 9, and he pitched in 16 games, giving up nine runs on 16 hits and eight walks over 16 1/3 innings.
In 91 career big league games, including three seasons with the rival Cubs, Parker has a 3.87 ERA.
Goforth, 28, appeared in 10 games with the Brewers, giving up 13 earned runs over 10 2/3 innings for a 10.97 ERA. In 42 games at Triple-A Colorado Springs, the right-hander compiled a 4.91 ERA, striking out 38 over 51 1/3 innings.
