Andrew Fischer hit some rarified air in the Minor Leagues on Thursday ... literally.
The Brewers' No. 5 prospect became just the eighth Minor Leaguer since 2005 to reach the 40-home run mark in a single season. And then he added two more long balls for his first career three-homer game in Double-A Biloxi’s 8-1 win over Knoxville at Keesler Federal Park. Fischer was the first Brewers Minor Leaguer to mash 40 dingers in a single season since 1974.
Basically, the 22-year-old has served up the most homers in the Minors in a couple decades, specifically since Ryan Howard's 46 in 2004. Fischer stands tied for fifth place in MiLB long balls this century with Joey Gallo (2014) and Dallas McPherson (2008).
“I didn’t really set out to do anything specific this year,” Fischer said in July. “I put in the work, play my game and stick to my strengths. I didn’t have any numbers in mind. I just want to show up and be as consistent as possible.”
After striking out in the second inning, Fischer squared off against right-hander Jake Knapp (Cubs) the following frame, he ambushed a first-pitch fastball and sent it over the wall in right-center field.
The 2025 20th overall pick has found a lot of success this year against first-pitch offerings, sporting a .421 average and 1.488 OPS when putting them into play.
In the fifth, MLB’s No. 5 third-base prospect stepped in with a runner on first and one away. Fischer turned on a 1-1 fastball from righty Grayson Moore and lined it just inside the right-field foul pole for his fourth multihomer games of the season and his career.
After a near two-hour rain delay, Fischer made one final plate appearance in the seventh.
The New Jersey native swung at the first pitch by right-hander Luis Rujano, sending it over the wall in left-center. The solo blast pushed Fischer’s season RBI total to 100, which ranks first in the Brewers organization this season.

While his 167 strikeouts this season are a concern, Fischer’s power is undeniable. Entering the day, the Tennessee product sported .357 in isolated power, per FanGraphs -- a stat measuring a hitter's raw power through extra-base hits -- which ranks first among qualified Minor League hitters this season.
Back in the Brewers system, Fischer stands atop a number of categories beyond just homers and RBIs. He currently ranks first in extra-base hits (62), total bases (256), runs scored (94), slugging percentage (.646) and OPS (1.045).
