Brewers to host holiday food drive

MILWAUKEE -- The Brewers will continue a tradition when they host a holiday food drive at Miller Park on the day before Thanksgiving.
CBS 58 and the Hunger Task Force are co-sponsors of the drive-thru event from 5 a.m. to 6 p.m. CT on Wednesday, Nov. 22, in the stadium parking lot, where participants can make their donation without leaving their car. Last year, Milwaukeeans donated more than 131,000 pounds of food to the cause.
Organizers are aiming to top 150,000 pounds of food this year, and they are seeking healthy, nutritious items like peanut butter, low-sodium canned vegetables, brown rice and breakfast cereal with no added sugar. Frozen turkey donations are also always in high demand for Thanksgiving.

Each vehicle will receive gifts for their generosity, including a Zach Davies Brewers bobblehead, coupons, snacks and other items. The first 100 cars to donate five frozen turkeys will also receive a souvenir Bob Uecker Magic 8-Ball.
