Buck not worried about his future with Orioles

BALTIMORE -- Buck Showalter could not stop the questions. He could try to change the subject -- which he did -- or pretend he didn't care, but that was only for so long. He wasn't fooling anyone.
The O's skipper was visibly uncomfortable on Thursday afternoon as reporters peppered him with questions about his future and the reality of what could be his final series at the helm.

"I think about Adam [Jones] a lot," Showalter said of the veteran outfielder who, like him, is not expected to return. "It's more from their perspective for me. Whatever stuff like that, we all have some private thoughts and emotions about that. I don't think it serves the organization well for me to be worried about that right now. We've got some things to do these last four games."
Showalter's contract runs through the end of October and, as with executive vice president of baseball operations Dan Duquette, the team will have some big decisions on where they go from here.
Showalter and Duquette went to the postseason together three times, and won the American League East in 2014, but the Orioles unraveled quickly and have the worst record in baseball, at 46-112.
Showalter doesn't mind being in limbo, reminding the media that there are far worse scenarios to have hanging over your head.
"It won't be difficult," he said. "In the whole scheme of life, it shouldn't be. Shame on me if it is. Do you know how good they've been to me? I'm not ever going to forget that, regardless of what happens."
