SAN FRANCISCO -- Buster Posey hadn't hit a home run since last Aug. 8, but when he rediscovered his power in Saturday's 7-5 Giants victory over the Dodgers, he made it count.
Posey followed Andrew McCutchen's fourth-inning leadoff single with a long ball over the left-field barrier off Dodgers starter Rich Hill, giving the Giants a 3-1 edge.
Giants manager Bruce Bochy said with concern before the game that Friday's rainout, combined with Thursday's scheduled off-day, interrupted the outbreak of offense that the club enjoyed Wednesday in its 10-1 victory over Seattle.
Posey allayed Bochy's fears by ending his homer drought of 160 at-bats. Posey entered the game with a healthy .444 lifetime batting average (8-for-18) against Hill.
