Park powers up, Ervin tunes up vs. Red Sox

FORT MYERS, Fla. -- ByungHo Park clubbed a two-run homer to snap an eighth-inning tie en route to a 5-3 victory over the Red Sox on Wednesday at JetBlue Park.
Rick Porcello, the American League's reigning Cy Young Award winner, allowed four hits and two runs over four innings in his final tuneup leading up to the first Opening Day start of his career on Monday at Fenway Park against the Pirates..
"The buildup was good," said Porcello. "Today I felt as good as I've felt all spring. At this point, I'm ready to go. I'm looking forward to the start of the season."
Ervin Santana, who will start Monday's opener for the Twins vs. the Royals at Target Field, allowed nine hits and three runs over 4 2/3 innings.
"I was just trying to work on stuff and take the positives from this game," said Santana, who will start on Opening Day for Minnesota for the second straight year. "The changeup was good. The slider was good. The fastballs down were good."

Xander Bogaerts belted his first homer of Spring Training for the Red Sox, and Pablo Sandoval slugged his fifth. DH Hanley Ramirez went 3-for-3, and Dustin Pedroia added two hits from the leadoff spot.

Drew Pomeranz, who will open the season as Boston's No. 5 starter, gave up five hits and three runs over four innings in relief.
Twins Up Next: Left-hander Héctor Santiago, who will be Minnesota's No. 2 starter, will make his final start in the Twins' Grapefruit League finale against the Rays in Port Charlotte at 12:05 p.m. CT. Relievers Ryan Pressly, Taylor Rogers and Craig Breslow are also slated to see action.
Red Sox Up Next: Right-hander Kyle Kendrick, who was reassigned to Minor League camp earlier this week, will start the final Spring Training game in Florida for the Red Sox. First pitch against the Nationals is set for 1:05 p.m. ET. It is the first of three games between the two clubs at three different venues. The clubs will play at Nationals Park on Friday at 4:05 p.m. ET and on Saturday (2 p.m. ET) at the Naval Academy in Annapolis, Md.
