SEATTLE -- Rays designated hitter C.J. Cron left Sunday's 2-1 loss to the Mariners with a right forearm contusion after getting hit by a sinker from Seattle starter Félix Hernández in the fifth inning. Christian Arroyo replaced Cron in the lineup in the No. 2 spot.
The Rays said X-rays on Cron's forearm were negative. Rays manager Kevin Cash said he anticipates Cron will play in the team's series opener against the Nationals on Tuesday.
Cron, who went 0-for-2 before leaving, is hitting .264 this season with 12 home runs and 32 RBIs.
