The Big Dumper looks like himself again.
In his third rehab game with Triple-A Tacoma on Saturday, as he works his way back from a right oblique strain, Cal Raleigh launched two more home runs to bring his total to five with the Rainiers.
Raleigh produced a historic 2025 campaign, setting a record for primary catchers by smashing 60 home runs. He went on the 10-day injured list on May 14. At the time, he had a .161/.243/.317 slash line with seven homers in 41 games.
With his two long balls in Tacoma’s 11-2 win over Albuquerque, Raleigh is 5-for-11 (.455) with 12 RBIs in his three games with the Rainiers. He also went 1-for-3 with a single in one game with High-A Everett.
The switch-hitting slugger’s first homer on Saturday was a 445-foot solo shot as a right-handed batter that went well over the wall in left-center field in the first inning. His second home run came in the fourth from the left side -- it was a two-run blast over the fence in right.
For the third straight game, Raleigh was behind the plate. He caught five innings on Tuesday, eight on Thursday and all nine innings on Saturday.
Raleigh will stay with Tacoma through the weekend and is expected to return to the Mariners’ lineup when they open a homestand against the Orioles on Tuesday at T-Mobile Park.
