Cardinals to play two games in Mexico in 2019

ST. LOUIS -- As part of Major League Baseball's initiative to globalize the sport, the Cardinals will play a pair of regular-season games against the Reds in Monterrey, Mexico, next season.
The two-game series is scheduled for April 13-14 and will be one of three series played at Estadio de Beisbol Monterrey in 2019. The Rockies and D-backs will be showcased there during Spring Training. Then, in May, the Angels and Astros will meet for a two-game set.

Earlier this season, the Dodgers and Padres drew 65,116 fans during a three-game series in Monterrey.
The Cardinals will be the visiting club for both games and have a scheduled off-day immediately preceding the two-game series. From Mexico, they'll travel to Milwaukee for a three-game set.
Monterrey is one of three international cities slated to host games next season. The A's and Mariners will play in Tokyo from March 20-21, and the Red Sox and Yankees will meet for a two-game series at London Stadium on June 29-30. The latter will represent the first-ever MLB games played in Europe.
