Sabathia gets birthday present when son signs with Brewers

CC Sabathia celebrated his 46th birthday on Tuesday, and it was an especially memorable day to celebrate.

CC’s son Carsten Sabathia III, who was selected in the 20th round of the 2026 Draft by the Brewers, officially signed his professional contract with Milwaukee on Tuesday. Sabathia III hit .283/.374/.511 with six homers in 107 plate appearances as a senior with Houston in 2026.

Of course, there’s a special connection between the Sabathia family and the Brewers. CC only spent half of a season with Milwaukee in 2008, but it was a notable tenure. After he was acquired from Cleveland at the ‘08 Deadline, Sabathia went 11-2 with a 1.65 ERA in 17 starts for the Brewers, helping the club make the playoffs for the first time since 1982.

Now, Carsten has a chance to etch his own name in Brewers lore, a journey that will truly begin after he officially signed his contract.
