Cuthbert to DL for KC; Torres recalled

KANSAS CITY -- The Royals on Saturday placed infielder Cheslor Cuthbert on the 10-day disabled list because of back spasms, and recalled infielder Ramón Torres.
Cuthberts' DL move is retroactive to Wednesday.
Royals manager Ned Yost said he didn't expect Cuthbert to be out more than a week.
"We've got games coming up Monday in St. Louis in a National League city and I need someone healthy," Yost said. "I've got a short bench as it is and I've got to be able to use it. Cheslor's situation isn't that bad and if we weren't going to a National League city, we probably don't DL him."
Torre, a switch-hitter, was hitting .229 in 39 games at Triple-A Omaha this season. Torres, 25, made his Major League debut last season and hit .243 in 33 games.
