MINNEAPOLIS -- The Rangers have activated right-handed reliever Chris Martin off the disabled list for Friday's game against the Twins.
Martin hasn't pitched since June 9 because of a strained right calf. It is the second time this season he has been on the disabled list, as he missed three weeks in May with irritation in his right forearm.
Between his two stints on the disabled list, Martin pitched in seven games for the Rangers, going 1-0 with a 1.35 ERA and a 0.75 WHIP. For the season, he is 1-1 with a 3.92 ERA and a 1.21 WHIP.
The Rangers optioned Ricardo Rodríguez on Thursday to make room for Martin on the active roster.
