ANAHEIM, Calif. -- Tigers left-fielder Christin Stewart was placed on the seven-day concussion injured list Monday after he crashed into the left-field wall on a home run by Kole Calhoun.

Stewart nearly made a catch on Calhoun’s drive that bounced off the top of the wall and went into the Tigers’ bullpen. But he made impact with his left side, sending him into a heap on the warning track.

After a short visit from a member of the Tigers’ medical staff and manager Ron Gardenhire, Stewart exited the game, which Detroit went on to win, 7-2. He was replaced in left field by Brandon Dixon.

Earlier in the game, Stewart gave the Tigers a 2-0 lead in the fourth inning with an RBI double off Angels starter Jaime Barria. The rookie has a hit in each of his last seven games and is batting .278 (20-for-72) in July.

Gardenhire said after the game that a corresponding roster move would be announced before Tuesday’s game against the Angels.
