CM Punk shows off his diving elbow drop throwing first pitch in PCA jersey

Everyone has a case of Pete Crow-Armstrong fever these days -- just ask WWE star CM Punk.

Punk, a Chicago native and diehard Cubs fan, threw out the ceremonial first pitch before Wednesday night’s game between the Cubs and the Marlins at Wrigley Field. Punk took the mound sporting a white Crow-Armstrong jersey. When he reached the rubber, he pointed both of his thumbs to the “Crow-Armstrong” lettering on the back to show his support for the National League MVP frontrunner.

Punk also threw out the first pitch at a Cubs game last September. That time, though, he wore a custom “Punk” jersey.

Punk is the latest celebrity entrant into the PCA fan club. Earlier this month, Bears quarterback Caleb Williams donned a Crow-Armstrong jersey alongside Bulls players Matas Buzelis and Caleb Wilson, with the three players starting “P-C-A!” chants behind the team’s third-base dugout.

With the postseason looming next week, Crow-Armstrong is the biggest show in town. He entered Wednesday’s game needing just one more stolen base to become the seventh player in American League/National League history to have at least 40 home runs and 40 steals in a single season. PCA also led the Majors with 10.6 WAR, according to FanGraphs.
