This week saw the return of one top ace -- Coastal Carolina’s Cameron Flukey -- while another, UCLA’s Logan Reddemann, took the week off to rest. And a third, Oregon State’s Dax Whitney, exited his start early. Here’s a look at notable performances from top MLB Draft prospects.
Roch Cholowsky, SS, UCLA
This Week: .333/.400/1.056 (6-for-18), 7 R, 1 2B, 4 HR, 6 RBIs, 1 BB, 2 SO
Overall: .325/.454/.693 (54-for-166), 10 2B, 17 HR, 49 RBIs, 24 BB, 28 SO, 1 SB
Cholowsky homered twice on Sunday to give him 17 on the season. He has a clear path to matching or surpassing the 23 he hit during his College Player of the Year campaign a year ago. His on-base percentage also gets a big bump from getting plunked. He has been hit 20 times this season, including once this week.

Jackson Flora, RHP, UC Santa Barbara
This Week: Win. 6 IP, 7 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 1 BB, 8 SO
Overall: 8-0, 0.78, 11 GS, 69.1 IP, 36 H, 8 R, 6 ER, 25 BB, 88 SO
Flora remains remarkably consistent. The seven hits he allowed were a season high, but it marked the 10th time in 11 starts he’s given up one or fewer earned runs. He leads Division I in ERA, and no other pitcher in the country is below 1.50.

Ace Reese, 3B, Mississippi State
This Week: .313/.476/.938 (5-for-16), 7 R, 1 2B, 3 HR, 6 RBIs, 5 BB, 4 SO, 1 SB
Overall: .318/.421/.688 (54-for-170), 42 R, 18 2B, 15 HR, 53 RBIs, 30 BB, 40 SO, 1 SB
Reese homered in each game of Mississippi State’s three-game sweep of struggling LSU and now has 15 on the year. It hasn’t been the dominant season some expected, particularly in SEC play, but he’s heating up now with nine home runs in conference and a .241/.347/.621 SEC line.
Cameron Flukey, RHP, Coastal Carolina
This Week: ND. 2 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 0 BB, 4 SO
Overall: 0-0, 2.35, 2 GS, 7.2 IP, 2 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 1 BB, 11 SO
Flukey made his first appearance since Feb. 13 with a two-inning start against Texas State. This first game back was designed to be a brief outing as he returns from a rib injury. He showed little rust, sitting 94-97 mph while mixing a 76-78 mph curveball, an 82-83 mph slider and a high-80s changeup. Few top college arms have separated themselves during his absence, and Flukey now returns with a chance to quickly reassert his draft case.

Drew Burress, OF, Georgia Tech
This Week: .647/.700/.941 (11-for-17), 8 R, 2 2B, 1 HR, 7 RBIs, 3 BB, 3 SO, 1 SB
Overall: .357/.481/.596 (61-for-171), 58 R, 14 2B, 3 3B, 7 HR, 34 BB, 29 SO, 5 SB
Burress’ freshman season (.381/.512/.821, 25 home runs) set an almost impossible bar. His sophomore and junior seasons haven’t matched that peak, but he may be finally getting on a roll. He went 4-for-4 against Georgia midweek, then blitzed Wake Forest over a dominant weekend. He’s now 13-for-22 over his past five games.
Liam Peterson, RHP, Florida
This Week: L. 5 IP, 7 H, 4 R, 1 ER, 2 BB, 5 SO
Overall: 1-4, 3.93, 11 GS, 55 IP, 50 H, 28 R, 24 ER, 28 BB, 76 SO
Florida demoted Peterson from its Friday starter to Saturday, but the move hasn’t sparked much of a boost. The Gators have now lost Peterson’s last four starts. He has shown much better control, but at the expense of becoming much more hittable. Over his past four outings, he’s thrown strikes 77% of the time in hitters’ counts but allowed a .545/.583/1.091 line on those 35 pitches, including two home runs. Earlier in the season, he threw fewer strikes in those situations (64%) but allowed just one single in 85 pitches. In SEC play, he’s 0-4, 4.04 with 39 hits, 16 walks and 42 strikeouts in 35.2 innings.
Cole Carlon, LHP, Arizona State
This Week: W. 6 IP, 4 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 2 HR, 2 BB, 11 SO
Overall: 4-2, 3.57, 11 GS, 58 IP, 49 H, 24 R, 23 ER, 21 BB, 97 SO
Carlon has reached double-digit strikeouts five times in his past eight starts. He still has outings where he struggles with the conversion to starter, but he’s improving his consistency. His stuff stacks up with nearly any arm in the class. He generated 19 whiffs with an 85-87 mph slider this week and touched 99 mph four times with his fastball. For now, he’s effectively operating as a two-pitch starter, having largely shelved his changeup.
Jarren Advincula, 2B, Georgia Tech
This Week: .565/.650/1.000 (9-for-16), 4 R, 1 2B, 2 HR, 11 RBIs, 2 BB, 1 SO, 3 SB.
Overall: .432/.502/.636 (76-for-176), 47 R, 8 2B, 2 3B, 8 HR, 56 RBIs, 20 BB, 14 SO, 7 SB
Georgia Tech has the best lineup in the country, and Advincula is becoming the table-setter that makes it all go. On Saturday, Advincula went 5-for-5 with a double and a home run in the Yellow Jackets’ wild comeback from a 10-0 deficit to beat Wake Forest, 14-11. He has hits in 22 of 24 ACC games and is batting .474 in conference play.
Gavin Grahovac, 1B, Texas A&M
This Week: .462/.500/.923 (6-for-13), 4 R, 2 HR, 5 RBIs, 1 BB, 1 SO, 1 SB.
Overall: .370/.455/.727 (61-for-165) 57 R, 11 2B, 3 3B, 14 HRs, 18 BB, 28 SO, 4 SB
After a slow start to the season, Grahovac is on a roll. He’s been a better hitter in conference play (.381/.460/.786 with nine home runs in 20 games) than in non-conference action. Grahovac has a 16-game hitting streak, and he has 12 multihit games during that streak.
Dax Whitney, RHP, Oregon State
This Week: W. 6.2 IP, 5 H, 4 R, 3 ER, 2 BB, 7 SO
Overall: 6-1, 2.00, 11 GS, 63 IP, 42 H, 16 R, 14 ER, 18 BB, 104 SO
Whitney turned in his roughest start of the season, allowing four runs for the first time since April 26, 2025. The larger concern came when he exited after 6.2 innings. Following a 3-1 pitch, Whitney signaled to the dugout and left with a trainer. Oregon State coach Mitch Canham said Whitney was experiencing tightness. No further diagnosis has been announced.
