ARLINGTON — The Rangers' left side of the infield could need offseason surgery, president of baseball operations Chris Young said at Monday’s end-of-season press conference.

Young said shortstop Corey Seager, who missed time with a pair of back-related IL stints this season, has a bone spur in his elbow "that he's dealt with for a few months" and will potentially require minor surgery.

They're still talking through options, but if they go the surgery route, he's expected to make a full recovery by Spring Training.

Seager hit just .227 with a .736 OPS this season.

Third baseman Josh Jung fractured his hand in game 160 after being hit by a pitch. Jung went to see team doctors on Monday for further scans.

Young said there's a potential surgical route and a non-surgical route, so they are actively sorting through those options.

Jung was one of the Rangers’ most valuable hitters this season, hitting .299 with 12 homers and an .827 OPS in 104 games. He missed 46 games with a calf injury, but then hit .341 in 12 games after being activated from the injured list on Sept. 12.
