D-backs' Ballpark Pass returns ahead of holiday season

Just in time for holiday shopping, the Diamondbacks are once again offering their groundbreaking Ballpark Pass, which allows fans to attend every regular-season home game plus the team's two preseason exhibition games for just $299.

The Diamondbacks initially offered a Summer Pass a number of years ago, which gave fans access to every game in June, July and August. The program was so popular that a few years ago they began offering the Ballpark Pass, which covers the entire season.

"It's been a big hit with our fans," Arizona team president/CEO Derrick Hall said. "Other teams have followed suit or inquired about the playbook. It's important for us to give fans an affordable option to attend as many games as they would like."

The Ballpark Pass is available for a limited time only and can be purchased at dbacks.com/ballparkpass or through the MLB Ballpark App.

During the season, pass holders will receive a text message each home series to opt in to reserve seats. Mobile tickets will be delivered directly to their mobile device through the MLB Ballpark App. Pass holders should note that the Ballpark Pass is non-transferable.

The Diamondbacks continue to make improvements to the Ballpark Pass each year. There are now options to purchase additional guest passes for each game as well as an option to link your account with a friend or friends so you can sit together for games.

The location of the seats will vary from game to game and will be in the upper deck unless you choose to upgrade your seats through the upgrade function on the MLB Ballpark App.

This is also the first year that fans can purchase the Ballpark Pass for other fans, so they can now be given as gifts.

The team has also refined the process over the years to make it as streamlined and easy as possible.

"They get a mobile notification asking if they want to opt in," Hall said. "They get their tickets sent right to their phone. It's just so easy and turnkey for the fans, which was important to us. We wanted to make sure that it's not a hassle in any way."

Typically the team sells around 4,000 of the Ballpark Passes each year, and they've found that the fans will often want to upgrade to becoming Advantage Members, which is what the club calls season ticket holders.

Advantage Membership plans include full-season tickets and half-season plans as well as weekend or series plans. Advantage Members receive perks like exclusive discounts at the Team Shop and Chase Field concessions, priority to purchase postseason tickets and invitations to year-round member-only events.

"We always want to make sure there are options," Hall said. "There are fans that want to just come on weekends, there are fans that just want to go to a certain number of games. What we end up seeing in these cases is that people get used to going to the ballpark. They like going to the games. They then want the perks that every other Advantage Member or season ticket holder has, and they upgrade."
