D-backs-Cardinals rained out Thursday; makeup game set for July 23

ST. LOUIS -- A series between the Cardinals and Diamondbacks that was already scheduled to be lengthier than the typical three-game set will endure even deeper into the summer.

Thursday night’s series finale between the Cardinals and D-backs at Busch Stadium has been postponed and will be made up on July 23. That date had been scheduled as a mutual off-day for both clubs.

The Cardinals updated their starting rotation plans by pushing back Thursday’s scheduled starter, Michael McGreevy, to Friday. Instead of facing the D-backs, he'll open the weekend series against the Marlins at Busch Stadium.

For the D-backs, Zac Gallen will shift back one day to start against the Rays on Friday in St. Petersburg. Jose Cabrera and Merrill Kelly are scheduled to round out the rest of the weekend for the Snakes in the Sunshine State.

Fans holding tickets for Thursday night's game may present their same ticket for the makeup game scheduled for Thursday, July 23, at 4:15 p.m. CT, with no exchange necessary.
