BOSTON -- As if their week wasn’t strange enough, the Diamondbacks were unable to make it home from Boston following Wednesday night’s game.

The team’s charter flight took off from Boston following its 7-6, 10-inning win over the Red Sox but could not land in Phoenix due to weather.

After circling Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport for approximately an hour, the flight was diverted to Las Vegas to refuel.

In the meantime the flight crew had timed out, so the Diamondbacks spent the night at a hotel in Las Vegas and were expected to fly home Thursday morning.

The flight delay came on the heels of a week that saw second baseman Ketel Marte fail to show up at Fenway Park for Monday night’s game and he was placed on the restricted list.
