LOS ANGELES -- D-backs right-hander Zack Greinke is likely one injury-rehab start away from being activated from the disabled list and his return could come in the Big Apple.
Greinke, who threw three innings during a weather-shortened rookie-level Arizona League game last week is scheduled to start Wednesday for Triple-A Reno in Salt Lake City.
If all goes well in that outing, Greinke could return Aug. 9 when the D-backs take on the Mets at Citi Field.
Greinke has been out since he strained his left oblique muscle while warming up for the third inning of his start against the Phillies on June 28.
