Welcome to DraftKings fantasy baseball, the Official Daily Fantasy Game of Major League Baseball.
The players listed below are in position to provide difference-making stats for DraftKings participants today.
Chris Davis: Since the outset of 2013, the slugger has used a patient, powerful approach to build a .257/.370/.574 slash line against right-handers. Davis could put a ball into the outfield seats or reach base often when he faces Rays fly-ball-prone righty Jake Odorizzi (4.47 ERA, 1.5 HR/9 rate in 2016).
:: Fred Zinkie's Daily Picks ::
Manny Machado: With a lifetime .826 OPS against right-handers that exceeds his .776 mark vs. lefties, Machado -- who is eligible at third base and shortstop in DraftKings contests -- could excel in a matchup against the right-handed Odorizzi and a Rays relief corps that ranks 27th in the Majors with a 4.76 ERA.
Bryce Harper: Since the outset of 2015, the outfielder has produced an eye-popping .306/.452/.616 slash line against right-handers. Harper could go deep or reach base often when he faces Pirates rookie righty Chad Kuhl (6.08 ERA, 1.73 WHIP).
Scooter Gennett: Gennett owns lopsided lifetime splits with a .784 OPS against right-handers compared with a .455 mark vs. lefties. The second baseman could provide cost-effective production at a premium position when he faces the Reds righty Dan Straily, who in his career has allowed left-handed hitters such as Gennett to post a .748 OPS (.682 OPS allowed to righty batters).
Freddie Freeman: With a lifetime .880 OPS against right-handers that exceeds his .754 mark vs. lefties, the first baseman will be poised to produce when he faces righty Jon Gray (career 4.94 ERA, 1.31 WHIP) and a Rockies squad that ranks 29th in the Majors with a .681 defensive efficiency ratio.
Nick Markakis: As a big leaguer, the outfielder has produced an .810 OPS against right-handers compared with a .723 mark vs. lefties. From a premium lineup spot, Markakis could reach base often or drive in multiple runs when faces the right-handed Gray (4.67 ERA in 2016) and a Rockies bullpen that ranks 28th in the Majors with a 5.04 ERA.
Jason Kipnis: From a premium lineup spot, the second baseman could reach base often or drive in multiple runs when he brings his lifetime .817 OPS against right-handers (.659 vs. lefties) into a matchup with righty Kyle Gibson (career 4.50 ERA, 1.37 WHIP) and a Twins bullpen that ranks 24th in the Majors with a 4.48 ERA.
Tyler Naquin: The rookie outfielder will be in great position to improve on his impressive .317/.378/.592 slash line against right-handers when he faces the right-handed Gibson (5.02 ERA, 1.48 WHIP in 2016) and a Twins squad that ranks last in the Majors with a .679 defensive efficiency ratio.
Robinson Canó: In his productive career, the second baseman has produced a lofty .318/.365/.528 slash line against right-handers. Cano could add to his impressive 2016 totals of 21 homers and 58 RBIs across 401 plate appearances when he tangles with Astros righty Collin McHugh (4.50 ERA, 1.46 WHIP in 2016).
Kyle Seager: The third baseman has long fared best vs. right-handers, against whom he has logged a lifetime .823 OPS (.696 vs. lefties). Seager could be part of a productive lineup against the right-handed McHugh, as the Mariners rank fifth in the Majors with a .787 OPS vs. righties.
Adam Eaton: From a premium lineup spot, the outfielder could reach base often or score multiple runs when he brings his lifetime .772 OPS against right-handers (.729 vs. lefties) into a matchup with Angels righty Jered Weaver (5.27 ERA, 1.44 WHIP in 2016).
José Abreu: In his career, the first baseman has produced an .882 OPS against right-handers that exceeds his .827 mark vs. lefties. Abreu could rip a round-tripper or drive in multiple runs when he faces the fly-ball-prone righty Weaver (1.9 HR/9 rate in 2016).
Johnny Cueto: The National League starter in the 2016 All-Star Game, Cueto has logged an impressive 2.47 ERA and a 1.00 WHIP this season. The right-hander could spin a gem when he works at pitcher-friendly Petco Park against a Padres lineup that ranks 29th in the Majors with a .664 OPS against righties.
Jacob deGrom: Having produced a lifetime 2.61 ERA and a 1.06 WHIP, the right-hander ranks among the most effective starters in the National League. A stellar start could be the end result for deGrom when he tangles with a Phillies lineup that ranks 25th in the Majors with a .704 OPS against righties.
Michael Fulmer: Since making his big league debut on April 29, the right-hander has posted an impressive 2.11 ERA and a 1.10 WHIP. Fulmer could continue to limit the opposition when he faces a Royals lineup that ranks 22nd in baseball in OPS vs. righties (.713) and 27th in total home runs (81).
