Tennis star Medvedev doubles down on Reds fandom at US Open

Star tennis player Daniil Medvedev has interests beyond his own prowess on the court. He’s also a self-proclaimed baseball fan.

The 30-year-old Russian tennis superstar already made this known last month, when he threw out the first pitch before the Reds game while he was in town to play the Cincinnati Open.

Medvedev, the No. 8-ranked ATP player in the world, further bolstered his love for baseball during a recent US Open media session.

“I absolutely loved it,” Medvedev said about attending the Reds game in August. “I said that I have to be a Cincinnati fan. They were the first team I supported during this match. So, I was like, it’s a good story to support them. And I actually really like the sport, the way it plays. I enjoy watching it. I feel interested.”
