Mets icon Wright reviews hot dog with Gelbs -- and gives it special rating

In the latest edition of “Let’s Be Frank with Steve Gelbs,” an in-game special where the Mets’ SNY field reporter rates hot dogs at various ballparks, Gelbs brought out a special guest.

During the Mets’ game against the Angels in Anaheim on Friday, Gelbs interviewed Mets legend David Wright and reviewed hot dogs from Angel Stadium. Gelbs and Wright shared personal opinions about preferences for hot dogs and various toppings, along with stadiums that serve the best versions.

“To me, this is a classic beer-and-dog baseball game hot dog,” Wright said. “For that reason … I’m going to give it a 5.5.”

Perhaps, there was a smidge of bias from Wright with that number, given that he wore the No. 5 with the Mets, who retired his number last year at Citi Field.
