NEW YORK -- Left-hander DJ Herz went six up, six down in his second rehab assignment outing on Friday night with Double-A Harrisburg.

Herz is working back from undergoing Tommy John surgery in April 2025.

Herz completed two scoreless innings on 23 pitches against the Richmond Flying Squirrels. He needed only nine pitches to retire the side in the first inning on a groundout to shortstop, a bunt groundout to the catcher and a popout to shortstop.

In the second inning, Herz recorded back-to-back strikeouts on changeups. He concluded his night with another popout to shortstop.

Herz improved his efficiency from his previous rehab start. Last Saturday, Herz threw 25 pitches in one inning for Single-A Fredericksburg.

In between outings, Herz has been at Nationals Park to continue his rehab program and be around the team.
