Kershaw returns to Dodgers' roster for NLDS as bullpen option
PHILADELPHIA -- The Dodgers set their 26-man roster for the NL Division Series ahead of Saturday's Game 1 against the Phillies, adding left-handers Clayton Kershaw and Anthony Banda and removing lefty Justin Wrobleski and righty Edgardo Henriquez.
Other than those changes, the roster is the same as the one the Dodgers had in the NL Wild Card Series against the Reds.
Kershaw, who will close the book on a legendary career after this season, was left off the Wild Card Series roster because he started the regular-season finale. Banda was also inactive during the first round because the Reds have a right-handed-heavy position player group, so there wouldn't have been as much opportunity for him to pitch.
Both will work out of the 'pen, giving the Dodgers five lefty relievers against a Phillies team with some big lefty bats.
Wrobleski, who didn't appear in the Wild Card Series, was left off. Last month, when Philadelphia visited L.A., the southpaw gave up five runs in one-third of an inning on Sept. 16. Henriquez did not look sharp in his lone Wild Card Series outing, walking two of the three batters he faced without recording an out.
On the position player side, the Dodgers continued to carry three catchers, including Will Smith, who is dealing with a hairline fracture in his right hand but should be available to catch during this series.
