Dodgers send Stewart to Double-A, recall Maeda

DENVER -- The latest victim of the Dodgers' aggressive roster manipulation is Brock Stewart, who was optioned back to Double-A Tulsa one day after blanking the Cubs for five innings.
Stewart was sent down to clear a spot on the roster for Monday night starter Kenta Maeda, who had been parked for three days on the roster of the Dodgers' Rookie-level Arizona League club. Because that club's season has ended, Maeda is allowed to be recalled without waiting the usual 10-day freeze period.
Tulsa's season could end Monday, so Stewart will be eligible to be recalled then, unless it qualifies for the playoffs.
