Bellinger among Dodgers headed to Fall League

LOS ANGELES -- Dodgers prospects Cody Bellinger, Alex Verdugo and Willie Calhoun will participate in the Arizona Fall League in October and November.
The Dodgers also have four slots reserved for pitchers, who will be determined soon.
Bellinger, Verdugo and Calhoun are ranked as the No. 1, No. 3 and No. 4 prospects in the organization, respectively, by MLBPipeline.com.
Bellinger, 21, was just promoted to Triple-A after hitting .263 with 23 homers and 65 RBIs at Double-A Tulsa. The son of former Yankees utility man Clay Bellinger, Cody signed for $700,000 as a fourth-round pick in 2013. Bellinger is a left-handed true first baseman, but he is athletic enough to play the outfield comfortably.
Verdugo, 20, signed for $914,600 as a second-round pick in 2014. A left-handed-hitting outfielder who had a 94-mph fastball as a two-way player in high school, he hit .275 with 13 homers and 62 RBIs at Tulsa.
Calhoun, 21, is only 5-foot-8, but he is showing Joe Morgan-like power as a left-handed-hitting second baseman taken in the fourth round last year. He hit .275 with 27 homers and 88 RBIs at Tulsa this year. A lack of true middle-infield defensive skills could send him to the outfield.
